As part of Baku Energy Week, the inaugural meeting of the Azerbaijan–United States Economic Dialogue was held on June 2, 2026. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the U.S. Department of State in accordance with the Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America.
Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) Authority, participated in the meeting and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the AFEZ. The presentation highlighted the Zone’s unique legal framework, ready-to-use on-site and off-site infrastructure, industrial land plots equipped with engineering and utility systems, as well as the wide range of financial and non-financial incentives available to investors. Particular emphasis was placed on the Zone’s transport and logistics infrastructure, strategic location, and future development potential.
Representatives of the U.S. side expressed strong interest in the investment and business opportunities offered by the AFEZ.
