The Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ), Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, participated as a panel speaker at the 20th IsDB Global Forum on Islamic Finance, held as part of the 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku.
During the forum, Mr. Alasgarov presented the strategic advantages of the Alat Free Economic Zone, including its investor-oriented legal framework, competitive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, strategic location, and world-class infrastructure. He emphasized AFEZ’s role in attracting high-value-added, export-oriented industries and contributing to Azerbaijan’s long-term economic diversification.The presentation attracted significant interest from forum participants, who engaged in discussions on the opportunities offered by the AFEZ and explored potential avenues for future cooperation.
In addition, the Alat Free Economic Zone was represented with a dedicated exhibition stand, where visitors were introduced to the Zone’s investment opportunities, business-friendly environment, and the advantages it offers to international investors. The stand attracted considerable interest from participants, providing an additional platform for networking and discussions on prospective cooperation.
