On March 16, 2026, a meeting was held between the delegation led by Ambassador of Italy Mr. Luca Di Gianfrancesco, first secretary Mr. Marvin Seniga, and the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority).

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, delivered a detailed presentation on the Alat Free Economic Zone. The presentation highlighted the Zone’s unique legal framework, ready-to-use on-site and off-site infrastructure, industrial land plots equipped with engineering and utility systems, a package of financial and non-financial incentives, as well as its transport and logistics centers.

Ambassador Luca Di Gianfrancesco noted that the presentation on the Alat Free Economic Zone had made a strong impression on them. He emphasized that the extraterritorial status of the Alat Free Economic Zone and the independence of the AFEZ Authority provide a solid foundation for the Zone’s successful development. He also pointed out that industrial land plots equipped with ready-to-use essential infrastructure are particularly attractive to investors.

At the end of the meeting, the Italian side expressed strong interest in continuing cooperation.&nbsp;&nbsp;

随后，中国海外产业发展协会和振伟会长致辞，强调了阿拉特自由经济区作为投资门户的战略重要性，该经济区能够助力中国制造企业进入更广阔的区域和国际市场，并对有机会进一步深化与AFEZ管理局的交往与合作表示赞赏。&nbsp;和振伟先生还透露，一个由有意在阿拉特自由经济区建立制造设施的公司代表组成的代表团预计将在不久的将来访问阿塞拜疆。

此外，四川和光同程光伏科技有限公司(Sunsync)国际合作中心主任、SolarSync AFEZCO 主任王晓磊谢毅先生强调了AFEZ管理局为外国投资者提供的支持与便利。作为首家在AFEZ正式注册的中国公司，Sunsync将在区内建设占地23公顷的太阳能电池板制造综合体，将先进技术和创新专长引入阿塞拜疆。

本次活动的一大亮点是AFEZ管理局与中国海外产业发展协会谅解备忘录的签署仪式。该备忘录正式确立双方承诺，将共同促进合作、便利信息交流，并为有意投资阿拉特自由经济区的中国企业提供支持。

活动最后进行了B2B交流环节，期间中国企业代表与AFEZ管理局官员举行了一对一会谈，就潜在项目和合作机遇进行了探讨。

此次推介会是加强双边经济纽带、促进在阿拉特自由经济区开展出口导向型制造业投资的重要一步。

On February 16, 2026, a meeting was held between the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority) and the Initiative Group of the China–Azerbaijan Economic Chamber. The Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, provided an overview of the Alat Free Economic Zone and its strategic role in fostering international investment and industrial development.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral economic ties and explored potential areas of collaboration. The Azerbaijan–Israel Business Forum was held in Baku with the support of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was jointly organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), the Embassy of Israel in Baku, the Manufacturers Association of Israel, and the Israel Export Institute.

Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, participated in the forum and delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the investment potential of the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ). He highlighted the Zone’s favorable business environment, including its unique legislation, attractive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, strategic location, and the availability of industrial land plots with fully developed infrastructure and utilities. On January 14, 2026, the Alat Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority) hosted a meeting with the delegation of the European Union, headed by Mr. David Cullen, Head of Unit at the Directorate-General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood (ENEST). The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Ms. Marijana Kujundžić, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Alat Free Economic Zone. The presentation covered the Zone’s unique legal framework, ready-to-use on-site and off-site infrastructure, industrial land plots equipped with engineering and utility systems, as well as the package of financial and non-financial incentives available to investors. Special attention was also given to the transport and logistics infrastructure and development potential of the Zone.

The EU delegation noted that the presentation made a strong impression. Particular emphasis was placed on the Zone’s strategic transport and logistics infrastructure, including its multimodal connectivity and role as a regional logistics hub, which was highlighted as especially attractive for European companies seeking efficient access to regional and international markets. The availability of industrial land plots with ready-to-use essential infrastructure was also noted as a key factor further enhancing the Zone’s overall investment attractiveness.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the EU delegation expressed interest in continuing dialogue and exploring opportunities for further cooperation.

The European Union Delegation visited the Alat Free Economic Zone

A delegation led by Lord John Alderdice, the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, together with Mr. Fergus Auld, Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) and met with Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority.

During the meeting, Mr. Alasgarov presented the key advantages of AFEZ, including its unique legal framework, attractive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, fully developed infrastructure, and strategic geographic location at the crossroads of major international transport routes.

Lord Alderdice expressed his appreciation for the favorable conditions offered by AFEZ to investors. The sides also discussed opportunities and prospects for further cooperation in attracting high value-added and export-oriented manufacturing companies from the United Kingdom to AFEZ.
