Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) Authority was represented at the international seminar on Energy Transition and Green, Low-Carbon Sustainable Development under the Belt and Road Initiative, held on May 25 in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.&nbsp;During the seminar, a presentation on AFEZ was delivered to the participants, where AFEZ’s strategic location at the intersection of major international transport corridors was highlighted for its vital role in strengthening regional connectivity. 

The presentation also emphasized AFEZ’s unique legal framework, its comprehensive package of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, and the availability of industrial land plots with ready-to-use off-site and on-site infrastructure and utilities. It was noted that, these advantages position AFEZ as a prime destination for regional and international investment.&nbsp;&nbsp;

During an official visit to Brussels, Belgium, the Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority), Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, attended a conference held at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS), which brought together representatives from the business and academic communities, as well as think tanks. The event was organized with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belgium. The event opened with remarks by Mr. Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood.Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority, delivered a keynote speech highlighting the investment potential of the Alat Free Economic Zone. He emphasized the Zone’s favorable business environment, including its unique legislation, attractive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, strategic geographic location, and the availability of industrial land plots with fully developed infrastructure and utilities. Mr. Alasgarov invited Belgian manufacturing companies to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by AFEZ. The event concluded with a Q&amp;A session and networking opportunities.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On May 7th, during an official visit to Brussels, Belgium, the Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority), Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, met with Mr. Bertin Mampaka, President of the Brussels Parliament. The meeting was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Mission to the European Union. Mr. Alasgarov briefed Mr. Mampaka on the advantages of the Alat Free Economic Zone, emphasizing its unique legal framework, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, strategic location at the crossroads of major international transport corridors, as well as the industrial land plots with ready to use infrastructure and facilities.&nbsp;

On April 30, 2025, the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority) held an event titled “Alat Free Economic Zone: Unlocking the Potential for Korean Manufacturing Companies” in Seoul, bringing together representatives of Korean companies, key business associations, and industry stakeholders. The event was organized with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Korea. The event opened with remarks by Mr. Ramin Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea, who highlighted the strong trade volume between the two countries, noting that Korea remains Azerbaijan’s main trading partner in the South Caucasus.
