The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Yuriy Husev recently visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) and met with the Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority Mr. Valeh Alasgarov.

During the meeting Mr. Alasgarov provided detailed information about main activities of the AFEZ, its strategic geographical location, unique legal framework, as well as about the industrial land plots with ready-to-use off-site and on-site infrastructure and utilities, transportation and logistic centers, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives package for the investors.

Mr. Husev has highly appreciated the favorable business environment created in the AFEZ for investors. The parties discussed future cooperation regarding the placement of export-oriented manufacturing enterprises from Ukraine in the AFEZ.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On December 17, 2024, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan&nbsp;of the Russian Federation, Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ).

During the meeting, which was held with the participation of the Minister of Economy Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov and the Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority Mr. Valeh Alasgarov detailed information was provided about main activities of the AFEZ, its strategic geographical location, unique legal framework, as well as about the industrial land plots with ready-to-use off-site and on-site infrastructure and utilities, transportation and logistic centers, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives package for the investors.

Mr. Minnikhanov has highly appreciated the favorable conditions created in the AFEZ and the work being carried out. The parties discussed future cooperation regarding the placement of export-oriented manufacturing enterprises from Tatarstan in the AFEZ.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A high-level delegation led by Aklilu Tadesen, Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia&nbsp;recently visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) and met with the Chairman of the Board of Alat Free Economic Zone Authority, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov.

During the meeting, Mr. Alasgarov provided detailed information about main activities of the AFEZ, its strategic geographical location, unique legal framework, as well as about the industrial land plots with ready-to-use off-site and on-site infrastructure and utilities, transportation and logistic centers, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives package for the investors.

The visit included an informative internal tour to the AFEZ site and concluded with an engaging Q&amp;A session, where both sides discussed potential cooperation opportunities.&nbsp; &nbsp;

High-level delegation from the Ethiopian government visited the Alat Free Economic Zone

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority) and Caspian New Energy (Chongqing) from China. <br><br>The MoU expresses intention of Caspian New Energy (Chongqing) on establishing of a manufacturing facility in AFEZ that will engage in production of wind turbines, towers and blades, solar panels and energy storage systems, using their own funds. <br><br>As per Memorandum, Caspian New Energy intends to establish solar and wind power stations within the AFEZ. It is the general intention of Parties that Caspian New Energy will supply manufactured products to wind and solar power stations within AFEZ, and subsequently to relevant power stations in Azerbaijan and surrounding countries. Parties continue negotiations on these areas.&nbsp;&nbsp;
