A delegation led by Lord John Alderdice, the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, together with Mr. Fergus Auld, Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) and met with Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority.

During the meeting, Mr. Alasgarov presented the key advantages of AFEZ, including its unique legal framework, attractive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, fully developed infrastructure, and strategic geographic location at the crossroads of major international transport routes.

Lord Alderdice expressed his appreciation for the favorable conditions offered by AFEZ to investors. The sides also discussed opportunities and prospects for further cooperation in attracting high value-added and export-oriented manufacturing companies from the United Kingdom to AFEZ.

On December 18, 2025, a meeting was held between the delegation headed by the Minister of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri, and the Alat Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority).

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, delivered a detailed presentation on the Alat Free Economic Zone, highlighting its unique legal framework, ready-to-use on-site and off-site infrastructure, industrial land plots equipped with engineering and utility systems, a package of financial and non-financial incentives, as well as transport and logistics centers.

His Excellency Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri stated that the presentation on the Alat Free Economic Zone had made a strong impression on them, emphasizing that the extraterritoriality of the Alat Free Economic Zone and the independence of the AFEZ Authority provide a solid foundation for the Zone’s successful development. He also noted that industrial land plots equipped with ready-to-use essential infrastructure are attractive to investors.

At the end of the meeting, the Omani side expressed interest in continuing cooperation.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Head of Mission of the Embassy of Chile, Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ), where he met with Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of AFEZ Authority.

During their discussion, Mr. Alasgarov highlighted the main advantages of AFEZ, such as its unique legal framework, appealing fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, comprehensive infrastructure, and strategically important location at the intersection of major international transport routes.

Mr. Salazar expressed his appreciation for the favorable conditions AFEZ provides to investors. The meeting also included an exchange of views on potential areas of collaboration and future cooperation.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Head of Mission of the Embassy of Chile visited the Alat Free Economic Zone

The first meeting of the Azerbaijan–Qatar Joint Business Council was held in Doha within the framework of the 4th session of the Joint Economic, Trade, and Technical Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar.

The event, organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, brought together officials and business representatives from both countries. 

As part of the Business Council meeting, the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority delivered a presentation highlighting AFEZ’s strategic advantages. The presentation emphasized AFEZ’s unique legal framework, attractive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, modern infrastructure, and its strategic location along major international transport corridors. Participants were informed about the significant opportunities AFEZ creates for investors and the potential for expanding cooperation with Qatari businesses.&nbsp;&nbsp;
