On April 1, 2026, a meeting was held between Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Alat Free Economic Zone Authority (AFEZ Authority), and Mr. Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Alasgarov provided detailed information about the Alat Free Economic Zone. He outlined its distinctive legal framework, fully developed on-site and off-site infrastructure, industrial land plots equipped with engineering and utility systems, as well as a range of financial and non-financial incentives, along with transport and logistics facilities.
Mr. Atagulyev remarked that the presentation left a very positive impression on Turkmen delegation. He highlighted that the Zone’s extraterritorial status and the independence of the AFEZ Authority create a strong basis for its successful growth. He also noted that the availability of industrial land plots with ready-to-use essential infrastructure is especially appealing to investors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed a strong interest in further developing cooperation.
