A delegation from Ethiopia, led by H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, paid a visit to the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ).
During the visit, Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the AFEZ Authority, presented the Zone’s strategic geographical advantages, highlighting its location at the intersection of the East–West and North–South international transport corridors and its steadily growing role as a key industrial hub in the Caspian Basin.
He emphasized that AFEZ operates under a unique legislative framework, offering a special legal regime designed to ensure a favorable and secure business environment for investors.
Mr. Alasgarov further noted that residents of AFEZ benefit from a wide range of modern office facilities and ready-to-use industrial land plots with fully developed off-site and on-site infrastructure and utilities. The Zone is equipped with advanced engineering and communication systems and offers a comprehensive package of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives.During the visit, H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali also toured the premises of one of the Zone’s resident companies and was briefed on its operations and activities within AFEZ.
